Fillings

When a small to moderate amount of tooth structure has been damaged, a filling may be indicated. The tooth is cleaned out and a tooth-colored material is bonded to the tooth, restoring the tooth back to normal form and function.

Crowns

When a moderate to a large amount of tooth structure has been damaged or the tooth presents with a fracture line, a crown may be indicated. The tooth is cleaned out and a new foundation restoration is placed. The tooth is then prepared for a crown. A final impression is made and a temporary crown is cemented. The final crown is fabricated by a dental lab and is cemented 2 to 3 weeks later. An alternative to this is that the final crown can be made in our office, forgoing the need for a temporary and having it completed in one visit.

Implant Restorations

When a tooth or multiple teeth need to be replaced, implant restorations are the ideal teeth replacement. See our Implant section for more information (Put a hyperlink to “Implant” Section)

Bridges

Implants are typically the best way to replace teeth but bridges are indicated in certain situations. The adjacent teeth next to the missing tooth are prepared for crowns. A final impression is made and a temporary bridge is cemented. The final bridge is fabricated by a dental lab and is cemented 2 to 3 weeks later.
