What is a Dental Emergency?
There are several types of dental emergencies, but the hallmarks of an emergency include a sudden onset of severe pain that is localized to a particular area of the mouth. An example of this would be a worsening infection in the dental pulp –as the inflammation grows, the pressure on the nerves increases and causes pain. Another example of a dental emergency would be a tooth being knocked out, cracked, or chipped. The problem with dental emergencies is that they occur at hours of their choosing, not at the discretion of our patients. The good news is we are ready to help.
