Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, usually start coming in after age 15 until age 20. Most of the time they are indicated for removal at a young age due to ease of removal and less complications. There are multiple reasons why they are removed including:
- Possible cyst formation around the teeth in the future
- Infection around the teeth due to poor gum tissue quality around the teeth
- Can compromise adjacent teeth due to positioning
- Poor cleanability
- Pain and pressure in the area
The procedure can be done under local anesthesia, nitrous, oral conscious sedation, or IV sedation administered by an MD anesthesiologist.
