What Does The Veneer Process Look Like?

At Colony Dental, we aim to make the process of getting veneers as stress free, quick, and easy as possible. Getting veneers does require a time investment, but almost everyone finds it worth it!

Initial consultation and exam

During this appointment, Dr. Hassan will work with you to determine your concerns and expectations for your veneers. He will physically examine your smile and overall oral health to determine whether veneers are right for you.

Preparation

During this appointment, Dr. Hassan will shave down a minimal amount of your tooth’s enamel in preparation for fitting your final veneers. Don’t worry. This process won’t hurt. He will also take impressions of your prepared tooth surface, work with you on the final shade of your veneers, and place temporary veneers over your prepared tooth surface.

Final bonding

After the lab has finished custom-creating your veneers, Dr. Hassan will remove your temporary veneers, ensure the permanent veneers are the correct size, color, and shape, and permanently bond the veneers to your teeth.

You can expect the whole process to occur over the course of three appointments. Some patients may experience post-bonding tooth sensitivity, but this typically goes away quickly after the process is completed. If you have any concerns about your veneers, never hesitate to call Colony Dental. Our whole team is here for you.

What Are The Benefits Of Veneers In Sugar Land, TX

Veneers are one of the most versatile cosmetic dentistry procedures. Not only can they treat most cosmetic concerns and even substitute for minor orthodontic correction, but the strength and appearance makes porcelain veneers an unparalleled choice

  • Strong and long-lasting
  • Life-like natural appearance
  • Stain, chip, and fracture resistant
  • Less preparation than other cosmetic procedures such as crowns

How Long Do Veneers Last?

With good oral hygiene and regular cleanings and exams, you can expect your veneers to last from 15-20 years! One of the best parts about veneers is that your daily care doesn’t have to change! It is important to note that because enamel is removed from your teeth prior to bonding the veneers, you will always need something covering your natural tooth. This means you will likely need your veneers re-done at some point.

Before After Veneers

Are Veneers Right For Me?

So long as you have generally good oral hygiene and are not dealing with any major oral disease, veneers are likely a great choice for you! Dr. Hassan will evaluate your oral health, habits, and lifestyle to help make sure veneers are the right choice.

Veneers may not be the first choice for those who have a tooth clenching or grinding habit as this makes them more likely to crack or chip. Additionally, veneers cannot correct more complex orthodontic issues. If this is the case, Dr. Hassan will discuss Invisalign® with you.
